Personality: Leonard Snart is a cold, calculating, sarcastic son of a bitch. This holds true both when he's running a heist and when he's doing his part to save the world. He enjoys planning things meticulously and once he's set his eyes on a goal, he doesn't give up until he has it- that's one of the things he's notorious for as a criminal. He loves stealing and will do it whenever he's got a chance- "there's always time to steal," he says.

He also loves being a supervillain. Though his first appearance is fairly toned down, once he has his cold gun and his protective goggles- not to mention the moniker "Captain Cold"- he ups his cheese factor by about seventy percent. He loves drawling out quips, he loves making themed puns, and he loves causing mayhem. Always for a purpose, certainly- he doesn't love the violence for itself, but for what he can accomplish with it. But it's clear that as Captain Cold, Leonard is having the time of his life.

He has strong feelings about teamwork- he hates the thought of abandoning or killing a member of his team, but it's fairly easy to get yourself off of his team if you don't toe the line. He has no qualms about shooting a guy who quits one of his heists and he's extremely hostile to Rip Hunter after he abandons members of their team to get pinched by the Russians, pulling his cold gun on him when they meet on their ship afterwards.

When it comes to teams, he prefers to be the leader. He has a very hard time acknowledging Rip's leadership, rarely referring to him as 'Captain' like the others do. When his partner in crime Mick Rory claims that Snart isn't the boss of him, Leonard's immediate retort is "actually, I am". It obviously galls him to be subservient to his father- though that probably also comes from the fact that his father is abusive and threatening Leonard's sister Lisa to get Leonard to cooperate. Leonard kills him as soon as he knows his sister is safe.

Lisa is the only thing he's stated to actually care about, beyond himself and money. She's certainly the only thing he's comfortable openly caring about. Caring makes him vulnerable, after all, and when he has a brief chance to talk to himself as a child, his advice is to protect his head and his heart- and to always look out for himself, no matter what.

Despite himself, however, he has a nobler side. When the Flash challenges him not to kill anyone during his heists, he agrees- ostensibly to prove he's the best, but he obviously doesn't enjoy murder for its own sake (unlike Mick). When recruited to join the Legends, he claims "hero ain't on my resume", but it's growing increasingly clear as the series goes on that he's not just in this for the amazing opportunity that time travel brings to steal things.

CRAU: N/A
Skills and attributes: Leonard's skills are almost all entirely practical rather than academic, despite his obvious intelligence and possible eidetic memory. He's clearly skilled with advanced technology (he figures out how his cold gun works well enough to tell when a new model has been sabotaged) and he's familiar enough with electrical engineering to be comfortable rewiring modern security systems. He's a skilled hand-to-hand fighter, a great shot, and is extremely skilled at infiltration and extraction (by which I mean he's a good thief and has never met a building he can't break into, according to canon). He's an extremely talented pickpocket and rarely passes up the chance to swipe something when it occurs.
